Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter and both sugars together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
  • Slowly add the flour mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Cover and chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Using a cookie scoop, scoop the dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
