- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla extract.
Next add in 1/3 of the flour mixture and beat until just combined. Follow with 1/2 of the sour cream and beat until just combined. Repeat with another 1/3 of the flour mixture, then the remaining sour cream, and then the remaining flour mixture.
Stir in the lemon juice, lemon extract, and sour cherries. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
In a small bowl, combine the walnuts and brown sugar. Sprinkle over the top of the cake.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before serving. Enjoy!
